Child Safety Standards

Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Neplify has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold, how we prevent and remove this material, how anyone can report it, and how to reach us. These standards apply to everyone who uses the Neplify app or the neplify.app website (together, the "Service"), and they are published in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.

Our commitment

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour that sexualises, endangers, or exploits a child has no place on Neplify. In these standards a "child" means any person under the age of 18. We are committed to keeping the Service free of CSAE, acting quickly whenever it is reported, preserving evidence, and complying with the child safety laws that apply in New Zealand and Australia.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly forbidden anywhere on the Service:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, drawing, or text that depicts the sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of a child.
  • Grooming or solicitation: any attempt to contact, lure, or solicit a child for sexual purposes.
  • Sexualising a minor: sexual comments, requests, depictions, or content about a person under 18.
  • Sharing or linking: posting, requesting, or linking to CSAM on or off the Service.
  • Sextortion, trafficking, and endangerment: any content or conduct that facilitates the sexual abuse, exploitation, or trafficking of a child, or that otherwise endangers a child's safety or wellbeing.

Any violation results in immediate removal of the content, a ban on the poster, preservation of relevant information as evidence, and referral to the appropriate authorities.

How we prevent and detect CSAE

Neplify is a public community noticeboard that anyone can read and post to without an account, so proactive, layered moderation matters. We:

  • Screen every post and comment with an automated content filter before it is published.
  • Require a human-verification check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on posting and commenting to keep out automated abuse.
  • Tag every post, comment, and report with a random device identifier so an abusive poster can be blocked and restricted even though there are no accounts.
  • Do not provide private, one-to-one messaging between users. Posts are public by design, which reduces the opportunity for private grooming.
  • Have administrators review the board and remove or edit content that breaks these standards, at our discretion and without notice.
  • Automatically remove posts about 30 days after publication, keeping the board current.

How to report CSAE

If you see content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a child, please report it immediately. You can:

  • Tap Report on any post or comment in the app or on the website to send it straight to our moderators.
  • Block the poster to remove their content from your view.
  • Email us at [email protected]with "CHILD SAFETY" in the subject line, and include a link or the exact title so we can find it quickly.

We treat every child safety report as urgent.

How we respond

When we become aware of CSAE, we act promptly — typically within 24 hours, and faster for the most serious reports. We remove the content, block and ban the poster, preserve relevant information as evidence, and report to the appropriate authorities. We cooperate with law enforcement and child protection agencies.

Reporting to the authorities

We report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities, and you can also report directly to them at any time:

Compliance with the law

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to our users, including New Zealand's Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993 and Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015, and Australia's Online Safety Act 2021 and Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth). Producing, possessing, or distributing child sexual abuse material is a serious criminal offence in both countries.

Age of use

Neplify is a general-audience community noticeboard and is not directed to or intended for children. You must be at least 16 to use the Service, consistent with our Privacy Policy. These standards protect any person under 18.

Child safety point of contact

Our point of contact for child safety and CSAE concerns is [email protected]. Please put "CHILD SAFETY" in the subject line so we can prioritise your message.
